X Wing Battle Report 6
Kristofer Bengtsson uploads video of the final match of a local store championship final.
Kristofer does an excellent job of providing a solo commentary track and especially considering that English is not his first language he has perfect pronunciation.
Once again the camera has been placed from a top down perspective and this results in the play field occupying very little screen real estate and more of the screen is dedicated to the players, and the ship cards than is really necessary.

X-Wing 2015 Store Champs Finals Shuffle and Cut Games
The Shuffle & Cut Store championship comes to a spectacular close with this truly epic final round where former world champion Dallas Pàrker throws Soontir and Chiraneau headlong into a dual Aggressor list run by Brandon Cating. Please make sure to watch this game all the way through to the end for some truly incredible X-Wing moments and behold, mouth agape and green with envy Dallas' multiple sets of transparent regional winners dice in the lower right corner of the screen.

Star Wars X Wing Store Championship Tournament Finals
The Dogs of War Gaming held a store championship this past weekend. Here we have an excellent quality video of the final match. With full 1080P all game details can be made out and the match can be followed very easily. Now as I said this match was played just this weekend so with recording commentary and such, publishing this video in less than 48 hours is pretty good on the part of the Dogs of War Gaming although it would be nice to include a squad list with shield and hull indicators as most of the higher quality channels are doing.
Commentary is pretty much on par not too interesting but manages to avoid being too boring even though there are some pretty big pauses.

POST COMMENTARY #3 - Store Championship Pescara - Finale
The Italian channel X-Wing Academy covers the final of their local store championship.
The video quality in this video is particularly poor due to it being archived from a live stream hangout.
The hosts give a good commentary although being as how it is all in Italian the international viewer may have difficulty following the game action.
Thanks should be given to this store championship for having a large ship meta, this final features four Firesprays and a Lamba with a solitary Soontir Fel dashing inbetween the behemoths.

Nacional España 2014 - Final
Finally the Spanish Rojo Cinco blog uploads the video coverage from the Spanish national tournament held back in September.
At the time this particular match made some pretty big waves throughout the community as it was largely believed that there were only three viable list formats in the wave four meta, those lists being derivatives of the fat Han list, TIE Phantom lists, or TIE Swarm lists. This final of a national tournament having been help in the interim between the US national tournament and the World championship surprised many when the list that won featured the HWK-290 as the squadron linchpin, However at the time further information was pretty scarce. word of mouth informed the community that the squadron featured Roark Garnet, Airen Cracken and two blue squadrons however further details were a bit fuzzy and the only sources were Eye witness testimony.
Anyway six months later the video finally surfaces (with very little post production work so I guess the delay was due to having a very busy schedule) so take the time to check it out.

2015 Star Wars X Wing Miniatures Game Store Champ FINALS James Matchett ...
North Atlanta Game Company also brings us some coverage from their store championship, starting with the final.
on further inspection this video is a video of a store championship that was previously uploaded from FCB comics and games back at the end of January. Maybe the FCB channel changed its name to North Atlanta to include another store in its video content.

X-Wing - FFG Worlds 2014 - Finals
Team Covenant bring their trademark high quality video production standard to the 2014 world championship final match.
If you have already seen the Fantasy Flight Games video of the final then you may feel that this presents a better view of the table with better video quality and contrast level.
In this video even the commentary is well maintained despite Stephen's penchant for trolling the viewer with his disaffected/uninterested hipster routine which he seems to have kept to a minimum on this game.
The only complaint I can level against team covenant on this one is the tiny little number overlays they use to identify the ships. Maybe it's my TV but they just don't contrast enough against the dark background colors to be able to make them out well, dice results are easier to see than these numbers.

POST COMMENTARY #2 - Road To Store Championship Pescara - Finale
The Italian X-wing Academy continue to try to refine their presentation technique, now including shield and hull counters on the lateral edges of the screen.
This time the video quality has improved slightly but the distance from the camera to the playfield is too much to be able to tell which ship is which on the table. The commentary once again seems well presented.

X- Wing Store Championship 2015 - The Wyvern's Tale - Final
Looks like The Wyverns Tale in north carolina had their store championship this weekend and also decided to twitch stream the event. Then the video got uploaded to YouTube.
They used a camera mounted directly over the play field and include an overlay interface which I found to be more of a waste of space than anything else.
So due to the low ammount of screen space occupied by the play field and the long distance a direct overhead cam requires the finer details such as dice rolls are hard to follow.
Audio is present but is recorded on a very poor microphone with a lot of clipping and excessive noise from spectators but not much conversation from the players.
This video in particular is the final of the store championship so they really should have put more effort into having someone commentate the game, Another complaint is that the game takes forever to get going, With the first dice rolls coming at the 23 minute mark, make sure you skip ahead to avoid a drawn out setup sequence and opening moves.

Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Store Championship Finals
This Ciminod400 channel popped up earlier this week and uploaded several videos from The Wandering Dragon Store championship. This video is the Final.
Be warned, whilst the video quality is acceptable and the games are clear and easy to follow there seems to be some problem with the sound that I found quite annoying whilst watching.
Lists are not provided in the description or on screen, So you have to hope that the players do a good job of clearly describing their lists.
This Video has basically just been recorded off the table and uploaded so don't expect anything special.

X-Wing Shuffle and Cut Winter 2014 Invitational Finals Match
Excellent game. Looks like Max Gingold made to the final match at the shuffle and cut store championship and played an excellent game. I'm gonna take a minute to say that whilst the video quality is the same as all the other videos that Max has uploaded over the last week the audio in this one is slightly better which I guess is down to the store being quieter and as such less background noise and the majority of the conversation between the players is clear.

NYC X-Wing Finals @ Twenty Sided Store 1/11/15
The NYCXWing channel brings a store championship final. Once again the Wave 5 Meta reigns supreme as this final table features only four ships on the play field, of which three are wave 5 ships.
The video quality could be improved with better lighting and if using a fisheye lens on your camera try to get it as close to directly above the center of the play field. otherwise the far side of the board is just too distant and with the poor lighting any small details past the midpoint of the table are very difficult to make out.
The commentary has improved since their first video and they fill dead air well and keep the viewer interested. There are also much fewer "umms" and "ahs" in this video.

2015 Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game Store Champ FINALS James Matchett ...
The FCB Comics and Games store in atlanta held their store championship on saturday and decided to do a marathon twitch stream for the whole day. I was able to catch most of the play but due to being in a different time zone I was not able to stay up long enough to watch the final. The next day I tried the twitch archive but the image quality was terrible. So I'm Glad to see that they were able to save the final match to publish on YouTube. The video quality is nothing special but after having spent the last 13 hours streaming through twitch I'm not surprised. The twitch stream was pretty impresive for its quality and for their first time broadcasting an event they did pretty well.
Whilst the video may not be perfect the commentary is indepth, informatiove and interesting as well as announcing the dice rolls and actions, Making the game very easy to follow along.
Given the current wave 5 meta it's also interesting to see a list in the final with only B-wings and Z-95s.
Deffinately a great video to watch and an interesting match. subscribe to the channel and lets see if they can stream more events in the future and hopefully record better quality video.

Game Cafe X-Wing Store Championship Finals 1/10/15
A pretty interesting game here as Chewbacca and Eaden Face off against Echo and Whisper, deffinatley worth a watch.
There is currently no audio as the publisher promises to later add commentary so might be worth holding off until the commentary is availble.
That said the video quality is pretty good considering that it is only in 720p. excellent clarity and a colorful play field make it easy to identify most tokens etc. Dice rolls as always are hard to make out so a jump to 1080p would be very useful.
